Characters: Elizabeth, Jill, Joe, Kirsty, Lynda, Susan- Jill admits she isn’t sleeping well at Lower Loxley. Elizabeth is also looking tired. She is rather stressed. She might need to have a word with Joe about his ghost walks. Some of the parents of younger children have complained. She asks Jill to join the walk to assess how things are.
- Lynda is going to talk to Elizabeth about the Calendar Girl auditions. She asks Kirsty if she’d like to audition. Kirsty isn’t sure but Lynda persuades her to think about it. The Lynda manages to let slip that Helen is pregnant. Kirsty is startled that it has happened so early. Lynda says Rob just couldn’t keep it secret. He is so pleased and proud. Kirsty thinks Helen would have wanted to concentrate on the new business.
- Jill is rather surprised at Joe’s ghost walk – not least because he asks for tips at the end. The story of the show girl high kicking her way around Lower Loxley was rather unusual. He manages to work her up into quite a state of the ghosts in Julia Pargetter’s room.
- Susan is horrified to hear that not only is the play to be Calendar Girls but that Lynda is planning to have a real calendar as well. Lynda says she is offering her a role where she can keep her kit on. She offers her the part of the Lady of the Manor but Susan is even more offended by that when she finds out Lady Cravenshire is in her mid-sixties.
- Lynda arrives to talk to Elizabeth about the auditions and offers her the part of the widow in Calendar Girls – Annie. She thinks it will show off Elizabeth’s determination and courage and might even be cathartic. Elizabeth says she’ll think about it.
