Rob convinces Pat and Tom that a home birth is what Helen has decided on. And Ursula has decided to be at the birth.

Radio Times: Blossom Hill is alive with the sound of interfering, while David and Pip are busy shearing.

• Helen had Henry in their bed and he wet it again. Rob makes a huge fuss and Henry is really upset. Ursula appears to try to sympathise but Rob thinks all of the excuses are just that but Ursula insists that it’s normal to be upset by the new baby. They mustn’t shout and finger-point. But she then goes on to say that problems at school aren’t excuses for bad behaviour at home.
• David and Pip are doing a bit of shearing. Josh is thrilled to have his own room back now Bert has gone but Jill has taken a fruitcake to the bungalow anyway. The first calf was born during Christine and Peggy’s visit so it is all going well. Josh has asked David to collect all of the scraps of wool from the sheep. They aren’t sure why. Must be something to do with the eggs. Josh is applying for the same course that Pip did. Pip isn’t sure he’s thought enough about the study.
• Later Ursula starts on at Helen about her dress and her greasy hair. Ursula says she has met Shula – she certainly carries a “whiff of the field” with her. Ursula asks Helen to make sure that she tells the midwife that they’ve agreed that Ursula will be at the birth. Helen wasn’t sure about it but she makes it out that it is so Ursula can deal with Rob. So Helen agrees. Ursula has also changed the washing powder and detergent – environmentally friendly stuff isn’t good enough for Rob’s son.
• Rob claims he is getting excited about Easter. Pat asks if Helen is okay. She says she is worried about the home birth. Why are the consultants even letting her consider it? Rob claims it is because Helen has made up her mind.
• Tom asks Pat what Rob had said about Helen. Pat still seems reasonably confident everything is okay but she suggests that Rob is worried about a home birth too. So it must definitely be Helen’s decision. They’ll have to hope she comes round to the idea of a hospital birth herself. Everything is going as smoothly as can be expected.
