  • Peggy is shocked to hear that Helen is refusing to accept visitors. It makes no sense. She thinks it might be because Helen is refusing to see anyone because they won’t let her see Henry. They can’t phone her, she can only phone them and she hasn’t. And it’s her birthday tomorrow. Peggy tries to be practical and says at least they are getting her decent legal advice. Kirsty arrives to drive her to Birmingham to see Anna Tregorran.
  • Lynda is amazed to hear that the shepherd’s hut is finished. Lynda is thrilled. She will love to see how the different elements of her garden interact. Eddie says Ed will bring it round on Sunday but Lynda wants to go round to take a photo.
  • At the visit, Anna instantly tells Kirsty to leave the building because she is a key witness for the prosecution. Anna explains that Helen’s defence team must not speak to any prosecution witness including Henry. Pat gives a bit of background about what had happened including that Kirsty was the only person who Helen had told Rob had hit her. Anna explains that this is all hearsay. She wants Pat to understand what a mountain they have to climb. They will have to work together to work out all those little incidents when Helen didn’t seem herself and why that might have been. Pat asks if that means that Anna will take the case. She says that subject to the solicitor getting legal aid and Helen agreeing, she will.
  • Lynda hates the shiny chimney. It’s modern and hideous. Eddie insists it is necessary. Lynda wouldn’t present an abomination like that to the Queen. She isn’t parting with a penny until Eddie sorts it.
  • Lilian is pleased with how the Businesswoman of the Year event went. Justin is quite rehabilitated. Peggy is more interested in how Pat is getting on. She can’t believe Rob would provoke Helen to attack him. He has always seemed most attentive. Then they pass Blossom Hill Cottage and they see a limousine. It is a driver with a huge bouquet of flowers that Rob had booked to whisk her away for a weekend of luxury for her birthday. How could anyone believe Rob didn’t love and cherish her? And instead of spending her 37th birthday in luxury she is going to be spending it in a prison cell.
