Radio Times: Helen has a lot on her mind and Lilian seeks support.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Lilian shows Justin the new table she made for him. The Dower House needs the right kind of furnishing to bring it to life, declares Lilian. She even brought one of her own chairs to give the room ‘animation’. Justin seems unsure about the chair but he offers profuse thanks and drops the bomb: Miranda is coming down next week and will be very impressed.
  • Adam demonstrates the new pens for the livestock. Less stress and more efficient for whomever will be handling the cattle for them. Isn’t it Pip and the Fairbrothers, asks Brian. Adam expresses doubts about the Fairbrothers’ ability to get the money together. Jennifer comes and announces that Rob won’t even let Pat and Tony see Henry. They have a court date tomorrow afternoon.
  • Anna asks Helen again to give her version of what happened during the stabbing. Helen will only repeat that Henry must not stay with Rob and Ursula. He is not safe, Helen cries twice. Anna tries to calm Helen and affirms that she does think they have a good case. She will tell Helen as soon as a decision is handed down. They must focus now on the bail hearing next week.
  • Brian and Jennifer discuss that it has been 30 years since cattle have been on the farm. Jenny then tells Brian that she was walking in the Millennium Wood and came upon a tiny elfin grotto, perfectly formed. Brian expresses incredulity. Lilian arrives. Lilian needs Jenny’s help immediately at the Dower House. Lilian wanted Jenny to give an opinion on her chair. She is very anxious about what Miranda will think. Jenny points out that it isn’t just Miranda’s thoughts on the chair. Lilian is making intimate decisions on the décor that only a wife would make. Lilian is more worried than ever after Jenny’s comments.
  • Helen hesitantly tries to reconstruct the events on the fateful evening. Anna focuses on Helen’s telephone conversation with Kirsty. Helen remembers that this made Rob very angry; he gave her the knife. At this point, Helen breaks down and can only wail Henry’s name. Anna decides to stop for a bit.
  • Anna and Helen resume the recounting of the details of the stabbing. Anna (with the patience of a saint) reminds Helen her version of events will determine if she goes to prison and for how long. Helen hears only that she will go to prison and she declares all is hopeless.
