The baby is born. Rob makes furious claims against Helen. Helen tells Peggy everything is far from alright.

  • It’s Saturday morning. Peggy tells Pat everything is going well. Pat continues to whine that she should be there. Peggy insists Helen will be fine, things are just taking a while – bound to after the under-eating. Kirsty then calls and Pat becomes even more hysterical.
  • Rob is trying to call Pat, she isn’t answering. Rob wants to know about what’s going on. It’s his son and it is being born surrounded by armed guards. Ursula tries to calm him down. Rob starts yelling that Helen isn’t fit to look after children. Look what she’s done. After everything he did to look after her. How did he get involved with the bitch?
  • Helen is upset in the labour ward; she thinks she and the baby will die. Helen thinks she has pre-eclampia again. Peggy calls for help.
  • Pat and Kirsty try to tidy up Bridge Farm. But Pat continues to blame herself for not realising how Rob was manipulating Helen. She should have realised that when Helen gave up her job that things weren’t right. Pat will never forgive herself. Kirsty says she feels the same. Pat says she has nothing to blame herself for but Kirsty says she should have talked to Tom earlier.
  • Pat goes to answer the phone. Kirsty and Ursula have a bitter conversation about blame. Then Pat comes back from the phone, the pre-eclampsia has come back. Helen has to have an emergency caesarean. Back at Blossom Hill Cottage, Rob gets more and more furious. How did he ever get involved with that bitch? He starts to go around to Bridge Farm but then the phone rings.
  • When Helen comes round, Peggy is with Helen and says the baby is fine and everything is alright but Helen says it isn’t at all. Meanwhile Rob and Ursula are wetting the baby’s head – Gideon after his grandfather. Ursula is delighted.
