Rob is determined to make contact times as difficult as possible.
Radio Times: Tony needs a favour, and Kate’s efforts are assessed.
Characters: Kate, Lynda, Pat, Peggy, Rob, Robert, Tony- Peggy enjoyed the Remembrance Sunday service. The sun was shining through Jack’s window. It was 70 years since she met her first Jack too. Lynda is back from looking after Coriander and Oscar. Oscar is 7 now. He wasn’t happy to be back in England instead of New York. But she’s ready for the Christmas Show now.
- Rob is singing to Jack at his contact but he falls asleep. He tells Tony that he is moving at the end of the week. Tony is surprised. Rob says it is to an executive apartment, much better appointed than Blossom Hill Cottage. He wants to talk about contact times again but Tony is insistent. So Rob says he will make the contact time – at 8.30 on Wednesday. Tony doesn’t think it is doable but Rob says it isn’t his problem.
- Kate visits Lynda to discuss the panto though Lynda had dozed off. Kate admits they haven’t been able to get a full cast, Kate and Alice don’t think they can cast it. They think a talent show would be better instead. She explains how people were dropping out and then Rob turned up. Lynda was shocked that Kate didn’t just say know but Kate blames Alice. And then she says Kenton isn’t in it either. And now none of the Grundys either. They see Mother Goose as a promotion for the Fairbrothers’ geese business. Nor any Fairbrothers. And Susan isn’t playing either. Kate again blames Alice for that.
- Tony is so frustrated with Rob but Fallon has said she will sort the tea rooms for Wednesday. They won’t let it spoil Peggy’s birthday. Helen has even made a cake.
- Lynda is so upset that the casting has gone so badly. She doesn’t know what to do. It isn’t Alice’s fault. She was relying on Kate. Lynda thinks she has misjudged everything and she can’t bear the thought of a talent show. So Robert thinks it must still be Mother Goose. She can’t give up. There are always casting problems. Robert thinks 6 weeks is ample and Lynda will talk even Justin into playing the demon squire.
