  • Pip breaks the bad news to Ed about his and Eddie’s shifts coming to an end. In spite of his disappointment, Ed understands Brookfield’s position and how they need to recover their losses after the IBR outbreak.
  • Nic, Will, Ed and Emma meet over dinner to discuss George sleeping more nights at Will and Nic’s. Emma stands her ground about the minimal impact her new job is having on the family. Publicly, Nic supports Emma in her stance, highlighting how she worked when she was a single parent and Ed and Will’s own mother has always worked. Privately, the two women congratulate one another on their successful plan, as an amicable arrangement is reached between the four, to keep communicating and not be so quick to swallow George’s tall stories.
  • Alan tells Clarrie that Lynda has tried to recruit him to her speed awareness campaign, which he just does not have the time for. He later meets Pip who unburdens herself and he suggests she shows her contrition by making a positive gesture that leaves Ruth in no doubt about her genuine sorrow for her deeds.
