• This was the 12,000th episode of the Archers
• Eddie is grateful that John sorted out their pigs while they were having a night out yesterday, but was sorry to find out that John ended up missing his second birthday party. He does decide to mend the pig sty, though.
• Ruth is in a reflective mood over lunch about the farm, the cows and life in general. That evening, she muses on how difficult life will be over the next few months, and ends up by telling David that she is sure that she is pregnant again. David, eventually, is delighted.
• William’s school is putting on a careers evening, but Clarrie is more worried that William won’t have a career locally. The response to the notice to quit has gone in and James Miller still thinks that the Grundys have a good chance of fighting it.
