Characters: Hayley, John, Larry, Marjorie, Pat, Shula, Tony

• Marjorie’s been talking to Jill – who’s worried about joining up the squares, only one so far, Shula offers to ring around cajoling.
• Caroline is feeling bad about not being able to do the best by the Grundys.
• John doesn’t want to tell his parents about he and Hayley living together. They think that Mrs Antrobus’ is not an option but everywhere else is so expensive (although they do get details on somewhere in Ambridge)
• Majorie drops John and Hayley in it with Pat and Tony about the flat. She’s looking forward to them being there. Pat and Tony are shocked, but not really surprised. Disappointed, maybe …. they plan to have some fun with the information, which they do later in the Cat, John and Hayley being played like a fiddle!
• Larry bumps into Caroline in a bar, she obviously wants to get rid of him – she’s waiting on a blind date – which turns out to be him! After a meal full of Desert Song she’s rescued by an incredulous (and amused) Shula. But she plans on repeating the blind date – the next mystery man can’t be any worse!
