• The opening night of the newly revamped Hassett Room sees Sid and Kathy looking forward with different emotions, Sid’s excited and Kathy’s still coming round to the downmarket swing. She’s glad that she can be around for Jamie and that, even with the “junk” food, she quite enjoys cooking. Brenda’s sitting for Jamie.
• Clive appears at the village shop giving Betty the shock of her life. He’s after a box of chocolates – Ivy’s had a fall. He tells of his dealings with the Grundys, to which she responds that the shop’s closed and there’s nothing in the till anyway!
• The free kids meals at The Bull have really got people in – David’s very happy with the place.
• Betty tells Mike, who flies off the handle threatening all manner of violence. He’s incensed to learn that Clarrie knew and confronts her. She manages to convince them that the probation officer will want him living in London and that a car might get rid of him. Betty’s placated but Mike’s still fuming.
