Characters: Christine, Clive, Eddie, George, Jennifer, Phil, Sean
- John told Eddie his news, who, after telling the police, went to confront Clive. While keeping up the front of the story he told the police, Clive seems rattled at Eddie’s confident re-telling that Sharon can refute his alibi.
- George is getting really fed up with the constant questions as to his well-being, he finally decides to leave the house when he can put up with Christine’s desire to go through his notebook no longer. Very soon he wishes he hadn’t, returning with Sean, who found him in a state on the Village Green. He’d seen Sharon and she was wearing his watch! He’s very wound up and would really like to know where she got it from.
- Phil’s minding the Christmas puds while Kenton’s taking his mother into Borchester. Kenton, though, has a visitor. After talking with Sean in the Cat the previous evening, Sean has the address of a Queensland friend of his who might be able to do some work with Kenton – whatever work it is that Kenton does.
- Eddie and Clive meet in the Cat and Clive tells him that he’s spoken to Sharon and she “agrees” that she’d been mistaken about his (Clive’s visit) to deliver Kylie’s birthday present, Clive regains his alibi which infuriates Eddie. In addition, Clive doesn’t appreciate the attention the police have been paying him today, blaming Eddie and, as the words get more fierce, violence breaks out and as the music rises in the background we hear Sean asking Peter to call the police and the sound of breaking glass ….
