Characters: Alistair, Eddie, John, Pat, Roy, Shula, Tony
- Shane’s overseeing the clearance of the café-bar – which includes taking Nelson’s cappucino machine in lieu of the last month’s rent. The plot thickens as Nigel’s only contact for Nelson is still his solicitor in Birhamingham, only Ellen has returned home in Spain last seeing Nelson at Madrid Airport, presuming him to be heading home.
- Pat is still fuming, but John can’t see the problem, about the previous night’s entertainment. Tommy has been miserable, but John insists that nothing happened between Gemma and he and that he’ll apologise to his brother. Roy chides him later, too, and manages to be suitably vague when John asks him what he is tomorrow for Valentine’s Day.
- Pat and Tony are still pondering over the contents of the article they are writing for the Echo and are more and more angry at Brian’s dealing of the whole pipeline business; that he must have known about it long before them and still didn’t tell them.
- Shula and Alistair’s intimate meal was going swimmingly until his pager went off (it is Friday 13th, after all) and he was called to a breach delivery of one of Eddie’s new in-calf Jerseys. Eddie’s all smiles as Alistair is successful and after they decide not return to their meal and accept Eddie’s offer of a mug of cocoa and a bacon sandwich, they enjoy a kiss in the Grange Farm cow shed.
