- Pat and Tony are convinced that keeping the pigs going would be too much work for all concerned – and destined for failure – but after seeing what it would mean to Tommy just to be allowed to try, he won’t be another John, but they can’t force him not to be completely different, they relent. Tommy was furious, but is eventually chuffed to bits and relishing the hard work ahead. Neil will be pleased too, as he was worried about his role in the supply chain.
- Grange Farm’s perennial money worries are coming around again. The problems with the milk mean that the rent is due at the same time that a large feed bill arrives. Neil’s chasing after the money and Pat suggests to Clarrie that they try to talk to Brian, after all he’s a farmer and might understand their plight and let them pay the rent in installments.
