Kate, much to Jennifer and Brian’s annoyance, is off to France for a short break (until the end of the summer), spending money that Peggy had given her for Baby (who still hasn’t been named).
Roy’s still not amused that everyone else has seen “his” daughter – except him. Hayley’s off to visit later and promises to have a word with Kate.
Eddie’s still drumming up support for the gut-barging event at the fete – the draw is going to be the special guest appearance of Big Louis from Felpersham, a man whose gut is not considered pleasant by many of the people who are shown his photo …..
Richard tells Usha about the prospect of his moving to a Manchester practice. She’s not happy that she’ll have to give up all she’s worked for and it takes some bad explaining and awkward pauses before she twigs what he’s trying to tell her. She’s surprised and furious, she knew they were going through problems, but had no idea that he was going to drop this bombshell. He’s already packed and plans to stay in a room at the surgery for his remaining time in the village.
