Turkeys, turkeys everywhere.
Radio Times: Turkeys, turkeys everywhere.
Characters: Clarrie, Eddie, Hayley, Joe, Pat, Tommy, Tony- Finally, after year’s of trying, a partial success for a Grundy as Clarrie gets Underwoods to agree not to bill Joe for the suit – although she does have to buy the damaged waistcoat, which is fine because she’ll invisibly mend it and give it to him as a Christmas present!
- Meanwhile, normal Grundy service is ongoing as, while clearing a space to hang the turkeys the Environmental Health Officer visits and is not impressed. The only alternative is the front room in the farmhouse and, needless to say, Clarrie is unamused to find the room full of scaffolding and, due to heat/ventilation regulations, with windows wide open ….
- Apparently, the Grundy business acumen has passed down the line, the cushions that William sold to Eddie for a fiver had been, in turn, bought from Edward for a pound and he’d got them from school. Joe, kind grandpa that he sometimes is, doesn’t want William to know how much they were selling them on for!
- Tommy’s not told Hayley about the possible external source of pigs to cover their shortfall, because she’s on at him to call people to apologise for not being able to supply enough.
- Eventually Tony gets Tommy to buy some cards and starts to write them, when Pat walks in and says she wants to take over. But, very soon, her reasons for avoiding Christmassy things catches up as she finds herself wanting to sign the cards “Pat, Tony, John, Helen and Tommy”. Tony sympathises as the unhealed wound of John’s death re-opens.
