Nigel takes the plunge.

Radio Times: Nigel takes the plunge.

  • Brian’s got a Borchester Land board meeting and is looking forward to Matt Crawford eating some humble pie – only it doesn’t all go to plan and he returns distinctly deflated and decrying his partners lack of agricultural knowledge. Apparently Matt was doing an admirable job at muddying the waters and hadn’t apologised.
  • David’s still not sure about the effect of Ruth’s possible consultancy on the rest of the farm, things like his commitments to working on the estate and her assumptions (a potentially erroneous one) that Jill will child-mind. Meanwhile it seems that Ruth would rather go dancing with Usha that to Shula’s hen night.
  • Jennifer’s been driving around changing the dates on all the tree-planting posters – from Boxing Day to the 28th, exacerbated by having to do more because she had to do the ones that the still ill Marjorie had put up. Her embroidered cushion arrived – and she’s not happy with it …
  • Nigel and Lizzie visited Janet for some advice on Death Watch Beetle, something common in churches and the like. It seems that the best way to proceed is “side-by-side”, involving shoring up existing beams with new ones, while the whole place is dried and fumigated. It’s going to cost a fortune and not be resolved for months.
