Adam is worried; Justin is worried and offended; Roy is on the horns of a dilemma.

Radio Times: Roy faces an impossible dilemma and Adam has something on his mind

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Ian finds Adam prowling about at the dead of night. But… why? Adam only admits to worrying about trivia. After further probing, he finally admits that he’s worried about his age. He’s 50; most men, so he thinks, are grandparents by then. If anything delays their surrogacy plans, he feels that the child would be lumbered with “aged” parents. Ian assures him that there’s absolutely nothing that will get in the way of their plans… nothing!
  • Roy bumps into Lexi at Grey Gables. She has a meeting with Ian to discuss menus, but there’s no sign of him. Roy wonders how her room decorating is going. It will go much better if he keeps his promise and calls round tonight to help. He offers to bring in a curry at seven, prior to rolling his sleeves up. He leaves to check the hotel’s CCTV system as usual, just as Ian turns up. However, he’s only there for a few seconds before he calls off his meeting and rushes away to make a phone call.
  • As a result of a chance meeting at The Bull, Harrison, who is off duty, and Justin have lunch together. Harrison expresses some surprise when finding that Lilian is spending so much time at the hospital with Matt. He discusses the accident with Justin, the sharp bend, a possible drunk driver and so on. He asks Justin why he was at The Bull that night. He had some unfinished business with Matt, that’s all. When Harrison presses further, Justin takes umbrage, wondering if he should have his solicitor present. Harrison apologises and Justin leaves, with minimal courtesy.
  • Adam takes a call from Ian while he’s busy taking silage to the sheep. Ian is keen for them to eat together tonight and spend time together but Adam’s got an NFU social that he can’t miss. Ian is busy over the weekend at work and asks Adam why an NFU event is so important. Adam rather loses his temper and raises his voice. He has nothing to hide, no secrets, he’s not worried about anything; he just wants to be given the space to do some work. After a few moments of silence, Ian wishes him well at the social and hangs up. “Oh, Ian” he sighs.
  • Roy turns up at Grey Gables with curry but no real appetite. Lexi senses that there is something on his mind. He owns up to having done something he shouldn’t have done. While routinely checking the CCTV footage, he came across some unbelievable images and downloaded them onto his phone. Lexi insists on seeing them. She too is shocked with what she sees. The video, taken on Wednesday, shows Matt getting out of his car and having an argument with Adam, before being punched to the ground by him. Roy is in a predicament; does he destroy the video, pretend he hasn’t seen it or report it to the police?
