Alistair brazens it out.
Radio Times: Alistair brazens it out.
Characters: Alistair, David, Kathy, Neil, Shula, Sid, Susan- Alistair’s at Shula’s for lunch and is trying – and succeeding – to convince her to eat with him at the Bull this evening. As he puts it, if you fall off a horse, you just have to get on and putting a public appearance off will only make it harder. As he’s leaving, David arrives, and is pleasantly surprised to see Alistair there – and to see them kiss their goodbyes.
- Neil’s not too pleased at Susan’s outburst and she admits that she probably shouldn’t have said what she did. She’s embarrassed, avoiding church this morning lest she bump into Shula.
- Sid’s surprised to see Alistair and Shula in the pub, but Kathy reminds him that it is possible to forgive people in such circumstances, reminding him that she’s glad he did once. Neil and Susan pop in for a drink, but Susan’s not up to apologising to Shula just yet.
- Over dinner Alistair is telling Shula that while people are talking about her now, it’ll pass. Kathy, in serving coffee, mentions how nice it is to see the pair of them dining together. Shula asks how they should refer to each other and Alistair tells her that they should be considered as an “us”.
