Alistair’s patience is exhausted; Darrell must go.
Radio Times: Alistair lays it on the line. Meanwhile, Caroline feels encouraged.
Characters: Alistair, Caroline, Darrell, Kathy, Oliver, Shula- News that Joe has accepted her offer has filtered back to Caroline. She hopes that normal relations with the Grundy’s can now be restored. Hotel bookings are up and tickets for the Christmas Ball are going well too.
- Full of apology as usual, Darrell wants to talk to Shula. They are interrupted by Alistair who quickly realises there are things he has not been told. Shula must get on with a lesson. No matter, Darrell can tell him all about it.
- Kathy sounds out Caroline about whether an application from her for the deputy manager job would be considered. Certainly it would, although Caroline can make no promises.
- Darrell explains how he came to be drunk and how, when Shula found him in that state, he managed accidentally to destroy beyond use irreplaceable videos of Daniel’s early years. Quite a feat! Daniel will probably be delighted.
- Now that he is in the picture, Alistair wants to know why he wasn’t told earlier. Shula is forced to admit that she is out of her depth but is loath to put Darrell back on the street. Alistair is firm: Daniel will be home soon and it must not be a home that has been taken over by Darrell. Which of them is going to tell him?
