Ambridge celebrates the switching on of its Christmas lights, though some residents are not full of Christmas cheer.
Radio Times: Clarrie wants to heal the rift, and Jess is enthusiastic.
Characters: Clarrie, Eddie, George, Jess, Kirsty, Rob, Tom, William- Worried because he is unable to find George, William looks outside and finds him at Baz’s grave. He has brought Baz’s collar in case he should need it in Heaven. Will does his best to console George, and tells him they will soon be off to see the Christmas lights switch-on.
- Poor Clarrie is very upset at this further rift between her sons. Ed and Emma have refused to come to see the lights because Will has let it be known that he will be there – and how will they manage to slaughter and dress all those turkeys since neither Nic nor Joe will be able to help?
- Jess had dragged a rather reluctant Rob along to see the lights, where Eddie wastes no time in trying to sell him some mistletoe. When the lights come on, Jess is keen to congratulate Tom and Kirsty on their display; oddly, Rob is even more reluctant but is forced to do so. The conversation is horribly stilted, though Jess seems impervious to the frigid atmosphere. Kirsty is furious as he and Jess leave, but Tom reminds her that it is Christmas and she should get into the mood beneath their Eddie Grundy mistletoe.
- When Will appears, Clarrie lets her distress be known, but Will only grows more bitter and malevolent. If Ed helps with the turkeys will definitely will not. He refuses to spend a single minute in Ed’s company.
