Brian sets out his vision for Home Farm’s future which Adam carefully weighs. Lilian is bored and seeks to amuse herself during Justin’s absence over the coming week.

Radio Times: Adam considers his future at Home Farm, and Lilian is at a loose end.

Characters: Adam, Brian, Ian, Jolene, Lilian, Shula

• Lilian is at a loose end since Justin has to spend time in London sorting out his divorce. In need of distraction, she calls into Home Farm in the hopes of talking Jennifer into a coffee, but she is out and neither Brian nor Adam can be persuaded away from work. Brian suggests she goes for a hack.
• Adam and Brian bond over drone flying and then Brian speaks with him about the share division within the family that he is proposing. Adam is taken aback and will discuss further with Ian. The one niggle he has is that he and Debbie are being given equal shares, but he feels he puts in the greater effort. He also estimates his time to retirement and wants to leave the farm in greater shape than it has been throughout his tenure so far.
• Shula has a minor skirmish with Gem, the sick and injured pony who doesn’t know her own strength. She plays down the pain and bruising.
• Jolene tells Lilian about their new investment in Scruff gin, which Lilian remarks is an interesting investment, but Jolene seems confident. In search of more entertainment, she first tries to join Adam and Ian for drinks, but they have family business to discuss and then persuades Jolene to join her at the races during the week.
