  • Has Clarrie seen The Echo? There might be something interesting in it. Eddie seems to know more about it than he is saying. Clarrie is pleased to be getting extra shifts at The Bull, while Fallon is away. Eddie thinks that Mike doesn’t look very happy, nor did Phoebe when he saw them going fishing earlier.
  • There’s more repair needed at the polytunnels but it must wait. Brian turns up to inform Adam of the successful bid for the BL contract; he will be on his mobile if Adam needs him, though by the tone of his response hell would freeze over before Adam rang him.
  • Eddie has rescued an old freezer, much to Clarrie’s disgust, in which to keep the boar meat ‘until it is required.
  • Brian pays a visit to Ian; he wants to enlist Ian’s help to keep Adam in the family business. Ian berates him for his ‘like it or lump it’ attitude but he agrees that they are basically on the same side.
  • Look what’s in The Echo! Clarrie reads Eddie’s story that the boar was frightened by the beast of Ambridge. Artist Eddie has created a realisation of the beast; copies are for sale. How does he do it? Clarrie shares with Pat her concerns about the road-kill boar meat; Pat agrees to do some research on the legality of giving it away. Pat has good news: the insurance company has paid up for the E. coli claim.
  • While Adam discusses his situation with Pawel, Brian is placing and advert for an arable manager. Back at home Ian tries to talk to Adam, though he is more focused on Pawel and the problems of Hungary; perhaps he should go there. Where, Ian wonders, would that leave him?
