Bridge Farm still struggles to shake off bad publicity. Ruairidh starts at boarding school.
Radio Times: Brenda has a brainwave and someone is missing from Home Farm.
Characters: Brenda, Brian, Jazzer, Jennifer, Tom- For all their efforts, Tom and Brenda have little to show: an internet search for Bridge Farm still comes up with the E. coli stories before all their new and interesting articles. Time to bring in the professionals? Brenda has a quote for £300-£500 per month long-term. Pat and Tony won’t jump at that!
- Brian and Jennifer have taken Ruairidh to his new boarding school but they have different impressions: Brian thinks he’s happy; Jennifer thinks he is keeping up a front. The staff are level-headed and will deal with any home-sickness; anyway he will have a weekend at home at the end of the month.
- Usually Jazzer is reluctant to work on a Sunday but not today. He doesn’t want to be in the flat with Harry and Zofia. She is supposed to be going home in a fortnight but is already talking about staying longer. Jazzer has visions of her moving in full time.
- On the way home it is clear that Jennifer is also worried that she is going to find Home Farm rather quiet – even more so when Phoebe goes on Thursday. As a consolation, Debbie will be coming on Sunday.
- Brenda has had another bright idea – an article in Borsetshire Life. She has a friend who works there; if they are short of material, they might jump at it. She will ring tomorrow.
- Jennifer needs her car keys. She is determined to go back to the school. Ruairidh has found that the other new boys have brought a cuddly toy; he is homesick and would like to have Mousey, so Jennifer is going to deliver it – discreetly and very much against Brian’s advice.
