Brookfield rejoices in the news of more arrests. Adam and Ian have a bust up.
Radio Times: Ian lays it on the line, and there is cause for celebration at Brookfield.
Characters: Adam, David, Ian, Josh, Ruth- Ruth is in good form, serenading the cows. Jill is due to check on the bees and Adam to harvest the barley.
- Yesterday Brian came to see Ian, who told him he had handled things badly. Ian and Adam really need to talk but Adam is due at Brookfield. He made a good start on the harvest but then rain brought things to a halt. There’s good news though: the police have made three more arrests. Keith must have coughed the lot.
- Since Adam is not talking to Brian he tried to get his message across via Ian – that he wants Adam to stay at Home Farm and he wants him on board with the arable. Ian points out the illogicality of Adam’s argument: where have all the other crops gone that Adam has grown over the years; he doesn’t know, so why all the fuss about this outlet? Adam complains about decisions taken without his involvement, yet he made his decision without any consultation with Ian. Harsh words are spoken before Ian goes off to work.
- Josh bemoans the lack of a holiday when his sister is enjoying cocktails on the beach and Daniel is off to the Olympics. David cracks open a bottle of wine – with their fish and chips – to celebrate resumption of a normal life now that all the criminals are behind bars.
- Ian returns home – to an empty house.
