David and Ruth continue damage limitation with the herd. Lilian is in a quandary over Justin’s silence.
Radio Times: Lilian seeks another point of view, and Brian gets a telling off.
Characters: Brian, David, Eddie, Jennifer, Lilian, Ruth- Eddie assists David and Ruth with the administration of nasal spray for the herd. The Herefords appear asymptomatic at the moment, so with luck the IBR may not have spread. As David and Ruth count their costs, they know they are not out of the woods yet and are thankful they did not agree to loan money to Pip at this time.
- Jennifer berates Brian for avoiding Lilian and putting his business interests above her welfare. Jennifer blames Justin for pressurising Lilian publicly with the marriage proposal, but Brian has little sympathy and fears the situation is tarnishing his working relationship with Justin. He worries about the impact of sensitive negotiations over the broiler unit site for the Damara and BL deal. If things don’t go to plan, public perception of his competence as chairman may be diminished.
- Eddie frets about the Snells’ B&B Mother’s Day package upstaging his and Clarrie’s embryonic hospitality business. They cannot possible compete with aromatherapy massage and deluxe breakfast offers.
- In his quest to avoid Lilian, Brian ends up straying right into her path, but she would value a male perspective on Justin’s radio silence if Brian can spare a few minutes. He tries to make his excuses, but Jennifer is firm and he hears Lilian out. He cannot concur that it is odd that Justin has not been in touch since Lilian ‘ditched’ him in the pub in front of all those people. Whilst Jennifer and Lilian defend Lilian’s actions, as the question was sprung on her so publicly, Brian puts Justin’s case, as he sees it, which does not go down well with the sisters.
