David offers to lend Pip the money for a new car but Pip yells that she wanted a better car than the one she had before and storms out.
Radio Times: Pip gets her hopes up and David lays down the law.
Characters: David, Pat, Roy, Ruth, Tom, Tony- Tony is trying to help Tom in a rather ineffectual way. Tom tells him he’s fine but agrees to letting him do an extra milking. Tom tries to contact Roy but he isn’t answering.
- Pip is back from her interview but David doesn’t think it will have gone well. Ruth reminds him they have a plan to help things move on. Pip starts whining instantly about having no car but David says they have a suggestion that might help so she is suddenly eager to be around.
- Tony tells Tom they’ve given Rodways the go ahead for the sale – probably in about 8 or 10 weeks time. Alistair will have to do a pre movement test and hope there are no reactors. They talk about whether to sell them on the farm or at market and Tom is in favour of the farm. Then he gets a call back from Roy and suggests a drink.
- David tells Pip he knows she won’t get the money she needs from the insurance but he will help her find a car that is suitable and will lend her the money until they pay out on the old one. She absolutely refuses to entertain the idea, she not only wants a car as good as the old one, she wants a better one and storms out. David loses his temper. Ruth feebly tries to defend her but David says she’ll just have to save for it.
- When Roy and Tom meet up, Tom asks how Brenda is. Roy says she’s doing okay. Tom wonders if she is talking about him but Roy says no. She is obviously sad but that’s about it. Roy says, if he has any hopes of them getting back together he should just forget about it. He tries to tell Tom it will be better in time but Tom just says it was his whole life and now it’s gone.
