Division at Bridge Farm
Radio Times: Division at Bridge Farm
Characters: Alistair, David, Hayley, Pat, Shula, Tommy- David drops in on Shula at the Stables and chats about Alistair (and to apologise on Ruth’s behalf). She doesn’t begrudge Ruth a word of her anger, indeed, she’s still feeling ashamed of herself – and wondering about Alistair, which is fortunate as he arrives to look at horse. She tries to talk to him, but he (deliberately) deflects all her gambits and refuses to tell her of his hurt. Later, to David, he admits that it’s Richard he’s angry with and that Shula wants something, it’s her move.
- Pat and Tommy are still at loggerheads over his plan to not return to college in the new term. Pat tries to get Hayley to talk to him, instead Hayley reports back about his intransigence, suggesting that dropping out and wasting one year is better than returning half-heartedly and failing and wasting two. Pat takes this lack of support badly. Hayley’s used to having, having also refused Roy’s request of a statement lest she get caught between him and Kate.
- Tommy’s looking for replacement driving instructors as his Mum is not flavour of the month. David refuses, citing harvesting (which is even causing him to miss his parents’ balloon trip tomorrow), Alistair agrees though – just to fill his time up.
