Ed thinks about his future.
Radio Times: Ed finds a shoulder to cry on.
Characters: Adam, Fallon, Ian, Jolene, Lilian, Sid- Harvesting can wait, or go on without Adam for an afternoon: he and Ian are taking the afternoon off. First Lilian entices them to The Bull to inspect her new carpet.
- Fallon thinks it is an improvement; Jolene is worried about who is paying for it: the invoice was made out to the business and two days have gone by without Lilian making good her promise to pay. Talk of the devil; here she is, ordering pints for Adam and Ian – on the slate. Meanwhile in another corner Ian is explaining his plans to do up the spare room, for when Madds and the baby come to visit.
- Fallon has called to see Ed, who explains what he has said to Emma. It was tough on both of them but he is glad it’s over; dragging it out would have made it worse. He was wrong for her, and she for him. She said she was bored with Will but when the crunch came she ran home to Mum and Dad. He still cares about her though – and George. Fallon thinks he has done a brave thing and she is proud of him. But what should he do now?
- Adam convinces Ian that he should slow down a bit over the spare room, although he promises that he is with Ian all the way over the baby. Sid finally finds the opportunity to mention the invoice; silly Lilian, she forgot all about (winding Jolene up more likely) but will give them a cheque before she leaves.
- Ed thinks he might go abroad again but he will give the counselling a try first and anyway he has no money. Fallon suggests he could work at Grange Farm but he is wary about letting Oliver down again, if he can’t hack it.
