Ed uncovers a nasty truth. Roy reaches breaking point.

Radio Times: Adam investigates pastures new.

Characters: Adam, Brian, Caroline, Ed, Nic, Roy, William

• Sullen Adam gives Brian a hard time when he asks what time Adam will be back from lunch.
• Ed’s had a sleepless night thinking about George, and he’s behind with his work as a result. Caroline is sympathetic, and tells him to ask Oliver for help. Ed tries to ring Will, but can’t reach him.
• Roy is negative when first Adam and then Caroline talk excitedly about the baby and Phoebe’s obvious delight. When he has problems with the Grey Gables computer, Roy finally loses it. Caroline insists that he takes time off to be with Hayley and Abbie.
• Roy takes Caroline’s advice, and goes to find Will, who is just what he needs – understanding, calm and dependable. Roy admits that what he finds so hard is people’s unwillingness to admit that Abbie might not make it.
• Brian discovers Adam deep in the Farmers’ Weekly, looking at management posts. All Brian’s attempts at a reconciliation meet with a barbed response.
• Unable to speak to Will, Ed calls at Casa Nueva, to find that Nic has shut a crying George in his room. Nic claims that George has been bullying Jake, but Ed won’t have any of it. He goes upstairs and brings George down. Nic tries to get rid of him, but Ed insists he’ll stay and tell Will what’s going on.
