Eddie feels threatened by the Fairbrothers. Toby has grand ideas.
Radio Times: Pip has a proposition, while Eddie is ready for his close up.
Characters: Clarrie, Eddie, Emma, Pip, Rex, Toby- Clarrie nags Eddie about the photoshoot for their proposed website, but Eddie has other things on his mind, particularly Ed’s predicament. He agrees to turn up after doing various jobs.
- Rex is planning to exhibit at Felpersham food fair, though Toby pours scorn on the idea. Pip arrives and tells them that Adam is looking for a share partner to graze cattle on his herbal leys. The brothers are interested, though Rex thinks it will have to be a small undertaking. Toby, of course, wants to go for large scale investment. Meanwhile they need to buy equipment for slaughtering, plucking and dressing the geese. The chiller will, apparently, run off the mains. Whose mains? we ask.
- Emma takes photos of Keira and George feeding the turkeys, when Eddie arrives. He is low in spirits; the Fairbrother website is far superior to anything they could manage. Clarrie persuades him to try, but when Eddie starts dictating text to Emma which is, to say the least, economical with the truth, she is not happy.
- Rex is hard at work clearing out bedding for the geese, while Toby disappears as usual. Toby is keen to consider share farming on a grand scale with Adam; Rex thinks they should both concentrate on their existing enterprise.
- Eddie turns up for milking at Brookfield and launches a verbal attack on Rex, whom he accuses of breaking his word. Rex stands his ground, denying that they ever said they would not be in direct competition with Eddie, and pointing out that the geese are raised in their natural environment, unlike the turkeys which have to be raised indoors. A heated argument ensues, terminated only by the appearance of Pip as she sets off for Prudhoe. The rivals manage to put their disagreement aside as they wish her well.
