  • Susan shows Jim all the proofs from the photo shoot and asks his opinion about his preferences. Jim repeatedly denies his interest but Susan doesn’t hear. Toby pops into the shop holding flowers and asking for greeting cards that say ‘Sorry’ on them. Susan whispers to Jim that given Toby’s reputation, she thought he’d order apology cards in bulk.
  • Elizabeth drops into The Bull for a sandwich and a gossip with Kenton. They discuss Jill’s antipathy for Toby and its effect on Christmas day. Rob comes in and Elizabeth leaves abruptly. Rob describes her conduct as rude and remarks that he expected better from her. Rob had borrowed white spirit and a cloth but neither Archer sibling knows why. Elizabeth also wanted to ask Kenton if he would take the twins for driving practice.
  • Toby presents his flowers to Pip after bringing her breakfast in bed. He presents her with the apology card along with an invitation to a gin tasting in Birmingham and a stay over at a posh hotel. This seems to have produced the thaw in Pip that Toby has desired. But Pip delivers the warning that last week can never happen again.
  • Kenton is annoyed after the driving session with the twins because Elizabeth hadn’t warned him about the squabbling. Also, Lily must end her Lewis Hamilton impression and Freddie needs his confidence built up. Kenton agrees to continue the driving practice but only if he takes one at a time. Kenton brings up Richard Locke going off with Debbie. Elizabeth takes responsibility for waiting so long to respond to Richard’s interest. Kenton feels bad since he encouraged Elizabeth to act on her feelings. Elizabeth confesses that it has made her realize she is ready to love again.
  • Rob bangs on the shop door and demands that he open up. Jim replies it is after closing time and refuses to allow Rob in. Rob refuses to leave and argues that it is a community shop and it should serve the community of which he is a member. When Jim relents and allows him in, Rob viciously heaps abuse on Jim personally. Susan then comes in from the back and tells Rob he is not welcome in the shop. Susan announces that he is not to set foot in the shop again and he is banned. Rob tells her to leave this situation to the men. Susan threatens to call the police and repeats that Rob is not welcome in the shop and he is not welcome in Ambridge.
