Characters: , , , , ,
  • Brenda helps Fallon find a new outfit for her meal out with Rhys, but Fallon seems not to be looking forward to it. Finally she finds something, just as Brenda is summoned back to work by Matt.
  • Matt has decided to evict Jazzer, as he has still not found a flatmate to share the rent. Lilian pleads for more time, but Brenda is told to write to Jazzer with an eviction notice. Lilian then orders Brenda to make coffee, but when Brenda takes a call from Tom, Lilian is forced to do it herself.
  • Tom is in high spirits at the food fair; his ready meals are attracting much interest, but when he gets home, his mood has changed. He looks at the customer reviews, and finds there is little enthusiasm for the meals after all. Not one order was placed. Brenda attempts to cheer him with a glass of wine, and soon the ever-optimistic Tom is again convinced that the world is waiting for Tom Archer Ready Meals. But with a wedding to plan and a massive business to launch, they are going to be very busy.
  • Fallon’s evening out seems doomed. Rhys is markedly lacking in conversational skills; apart from work his only interest seems to be sport. The food at a new Caribbean restaurant is good, however, and eventually Rhys cheers up. They discover that they have £30 left and decide to go dancing.
  • Matt returns with a surprise for Lilian. He has booked a room in a boutique hotel in London and tickets for the Eurostar to Paris. Jenny has told him what to pack for Lilian, so they can leave at once. Lilian rejects that idea; she needs to change and check what is in the suitcase first, but is delighted with Matt’s idea.
