Fallon realises what she is up against: her mum just can’t cope.
Radio Times: Harry has big plans and Jazzer gets the wrong end of the stick.
Characters: Alistair, Elizabeth, Fallon, Harry, Jazzer, Jolene- It’s all Fallon’s fault! Harry explains that living at The Bull, with a social life on tap, has whetted his appetite for living in Ambridge; that’s why he has brought Fallon to look at the Hillside flat he is thinking of renting. He has to make do with the smallest one because they are expensive.
- Elizabeth has arranged for an under-cover guided tour of the Cathedral School. Alas, Shula has had to deal with a prospective livery customer, so Alistair is left to do the honours. He admits to having been a reluctant convert to private education but it has proved to be the right school for Daniel. Elizabeth is impressed. There is some discussion about Jill’s birthday; it seems that Kenton has more exciting ideas than Elizabeth, so having done some groundwork she has handed it all over to David and Ruth.
- Fallon liked the flat and is full of ideas for helping Harry to move in and to furnish it. Even Jolene shows interest, which Fallon thinks must be a good sign. Jazzer gets a bit of a shock when he arrives and is told that she and Harry have been looking at a flat. He is pleased to hear that Fallon is not moving in with Harry. Any progress that Jolene is making is soon undone when a customer asks after her husband. It makes Fallon realise that her mum just can’t cope with the pub – and who can blame her.
