Hayley treads the middle way

Radio Times: Hayley treads the middle way

  • The battle lines are, with no little trepidation, being drawn. Both Hayley and Janet are less than happy about being asked to pick between Kate and Roy. Having earlier in the week refused to give a statement defending Roy, Hayley tells Kate she doesn’t want to take sides (prompting much wailing and gnashing of teeth) and suggesting that they are all forgetting that the child is the most important person. Later, though, she agrees to support Roy on the strict understanding that she’s not going to say anything against Kate.
  • Janet feels unable to support either of them, taking a step back in the dispute between two parishoners.
  • Janet’s also got a clash between Darrington and Ambridge’s Harvest Suppers. Her open door policy for the church is going better though, there are plenty of volunteers to keep an eye on the church, including Lynda, Phil and the rest of the bellringers.
