  • David gets the report about Heather from his mum. Heather is walking again but social services are going to examine her house before she is allowed home by herself. Ruth is worried that Heather will try to do too much. It is a large decision to move into sheltered accommodation and Heather would have to agree. Jill notes that she is very lucky that she lives with her son’s family. Jill suggests that Heather move down to Ambridge. David is sent off with a flask and some cake; lucky David.
  • Adam and David discuss whether Adam will continue with the contract; Adam is doubtful. That is the way things are done nowadays.
  • Johnny admires Ed’s life as an independent farmer. Ed is cynical in his reply. Johnny urges Ed to buy Mike’s business. Ed tries to relay the economic facts of life and explains that his milk is superior to other ‘white water’ and this makes difficulties with mixing milk from various sources.
  • Lynda gives a report on the décor to Leonie about the decorations for the baby naming celebration. The exact shade of green is discussed in detail. Photos are demanded for approval.
  • The serious storm is destroying the marquee and all thought about the exact colour of the décor falls to the wayside as Lynda tries to salvage what she can. Jill is trying to stop the kitchen from flooding when David arrives.
  • Betraying his youth, Johnny is exuberant about the storm. Tony and Ed are astonished to see Lynda attempting to salvage something from the gardens for the naming ceremony. All the men leap in to help. Poor Mungo.
