Helen has another awkward encounter with Rob and Jess.
Radio Times: Helen feels confused, while Caroline takes a break.
Characters: Caroline, Helen, Jess, Kathy, Kirsty, Oliver, Rob- Helen doesn’t want to hear about Kirsty’s rehearsal worries, centred as they are on Rob. She is going shopping with Henry to get him some new shoes.
- Who should she meet, also out shopping, but Rob and Jess; not knowing why she shouldn’t, Jess insists on talking to them. Henry is keen to greet Rob in the manner to which he had become accustomed but, under his wife’s gaze, Rob does not respond.
- It’s Kathy’s first day in her new job but she is pleased to get a call from Caroline trying to fix up a second interview. She’s certainly up for that. Meanwhile Oliver tempts Caroline out to pick holly and mistletoe; the Grundys usually pick it too but they have some bridge building to do there.
- Helen has scarcely got back to the shop when Rob appears, suggesting that Helen should have held on to Henry. He gets short shrift. However, when Helen later reports the meeting to Kirsty, she will allow no criticism of Rob. She still loves him; what is she going to do?
