  • Miranda tells Shula how to run her stables and then notices a cut on her horse’s foot; Shula explains that she cleaned it yesterday and put antiseptic ointment on it. When Miranda protests that it doesn’t look good, Shula calls Anisha to have a look. The vet thinks it is healing nicely. Anisha makes a faux pas by laughing about Justin and Lilian drinking in the pub, not understanding who Miranda is married to. Miranda announces she is Justin’s wife and frostily throws out a comment that she will leave since she is supposed to be buying her husband a Valentine’s Day gift.
  • Helen wants Tom to come back to Bridge Farm for a few days. Tom refuses and notes that Johnny has been a great help. Tom spoke to Kirsty who doesn’t want a ceremony or anything. Helen asks how Tom feels about no commemoration. He replies that it is all about what Kirsty wants, not him. He then breaks down and confesses that he feels responsible. Helen tries to comfort him.
  • Tom tells Helen that it is worst because he is mourning for a life that was never lived. Helen tells him it will take time for the grief to abate. Tom just wants Kirsty to be okay.
  • Anisha went to see a bull last night but Alistair received a call from Mr. Hodge the owner asking if he would come next time. Mr. Hodge was disparaging about Anisha’s manners but Alistair is supportive and recommends that she just get on with the job and not let this sort of thing bother her. Alistair finds Anisha working overtime. She asks if she could have handled the owner of the bull better. Alistair stresses that the bull is doing well and that is the important thing. But Anisha points out that she has left a customer unsatisfied.
  • Miranda and Justin are having a meal in Ambridge at Fallon’s tea room. Miranda complains about the lack of culture and decent restaurants in Ambridge. She disparages Jennifer and her ‘little party’. She wants Justin to run things from London. He promises after he concludes a current deal, he will spend much more time in London.
  • Alistair tells Shula about Mr. Hodge and his bull. His criticisms seem to have hit Anisha. She is getting a taste of village life and is finding things a bit difficult. Perhaps she isn’t as tough as they thought.
