Characters: , , , , ,
  • The tree at Bridge Farm is huge this year. Henry is looking forward to decorating it. Helen is taking Henry around to deliver more cards and to look at the lights but Henry is still anxious if “Daddy” will have a tree.
  • Pip and Toby are having fun getting ready for Christmas. The door knocks and it is Ruth. Toby leaves to deliver his last lot of geese. Ruth just wants to ask Pip to start the milking for her while she has to run Ben into Borchester. Ruth doesn’t like to ask but Pip doesn’t mind at all. Once Ruth comes back, Ruth tries to explain to Pip that she knows that Jill is being unreasonable. What Pip wants to do is up to her. Toby reappears after delivering the last geese. He stresses to her that she is quite welcome to go over to Brookfield. They’d still get up together, open their presents together. But Pip says she wants to spend Christmas with him and if Jill can’t deal with it that’s tough.
  • Helen meets Jennifer in the village. Jennifer is still trying to sort out Kate’s costume mess. Even Peggy and Christine are making gosling costumes. Then as Jennifer leaves, Henry seems to have disappeared. Helen panics and rings Tom but then Henry reappears. He’d posted a card through Blossom Hill Cottage for Rob.
  • Helen apologises to Tom for her panic. Tom says there is nothing to be sorry about. All parents worry when children go missing. She just needs to be kinder to herself. Henry seems happy. He is looking forward to the last window on his advent calendar and it is going to be the best Christmas ever. (Yeah, right!).
