Characters: Alistair, Hayley, Jennifer, Kate, Pat, Shula, Tony- Hayley visits a very despondent Kate who’s still very angry with Roy. She’s taking this out on everyone around her, including her mother, although Jennifer’s being understanding. Kate just can’t see what Roy is thinking about.
- Pat, after a little teasing, tells Tony that she knows all about how he got his back injury and they laugh about it. They’re happy too, because the pipeline contractors have finished their work at Bridge Farm.
- Hayley’s plans for butchering the meat on site intrigue Pat and Tony, but they advise lots more work before proceeding on this very big step.
- Shula is meant to be going to the theatre with Alistair, but she arrives very early – with something to tell him. He’s absolutely stunned at the news that she doesn’t want to continue things as he thought they were getting on so well. She doesn’t want to say anything but he eventually drags it out of her that there is someone else – but she adamantly refuses to divulge the identity.
