I get knocked down…
Radio Times: I get knocked down…
Characters: David, Jack, Jill, Joe, Lynda, Peggy, Phil, Ruth- Phil’s increasingly worried about Brookfield’s financial future with the drop in income while they can’t sell their milk or stock and the subsequent increase in feed costs. Joe pops round to offer condolences, but is digging as to the cause of the TB – worried that it might have been caused by badgers and the possibility of this causing a similar outbreak in Grange Farm’s Jerseys.
- Joe was en route to a rehearsal for the fashion show at Grey Gables. Lynda is in full artistic mode but her models, Jill, Peggy, Julia, Marjorie, amongst others, aren’t convinced that Tubthumping by Chumbawumba is entirely appropriate. After much disagreement and discussion, Jack threatens the live musical experience of the Tommy Croker quartet, and suddenly Marjorie’s suggestion of some Glenn Miller is agreed upon.
- Ruth’s convinced that Phil still blames her for the TB (because it was her idea to bring in the new stock), she’s been successfully avoiding him for a few days but when she and David are at Brookfield for tea and the unveiling of Pip’s witch’s costume for Hallowe’en, the dam burst. Phil didn’t say anything specific but was did blame the herd increase for the outbreak and she, very upset and tearfully, complained that she felt bad enough and didn’t need reminding that the current outbreak was because of her idea.
