In an episode of gloom, Darrell tells Matt he may have to leave, leading to a row with Elona and Vicky tells Lynda she has to have the baby but Mike must want it too.

Radio Times: Vicky struggles to cope, and Darrell loses patience.

Elona has had a bad day at the Laurels with one of the residents dying in the night. Darrell isn’t having much more fun at the Walters. Elona wants him to look at the washing machine but he has to go to see Matt.
When Darrell gets to the Dower House, Lilian tries to stay for the meeting but Matt makes her leave. So Matt tells him that he has to pull up all the floorboards to check for any leaks in any of the other pipework at No.12 after such a traumatic time for the Walters. When Darrell says he might leave, Matt points out with his record he doesn’t have much chance of another job.
Talking to Adam in the village, Lilian says how she is seeing a different side of Matt. She’ll have to decide how to deal with it.
In the village shop with Lynda, Vicky is clearly not very focussed. Lynda sends her home and says she will drop in later.
Darrell is very upset and has been walking around trying to sort things out but Elona is more furious that he hasn’t looked at the washing machine and a big row happens.
When Lynda goes to see Vicky she says she is determined to have the baby but Mike doesn’t feel that way. She says that Mike has to want it too.
