Jazzer talks himself into a home and Eddie and Joe try to get Lynda to pay for repairs.
Radio Times: Jim needs to make up his mind and Joe has a bright idea.
Characters: Eddie, Jazzer, Jim, Joe, Lynda, Shula- Jazzer finds Jim moving into his renovated home and asks if he can move back in again. Jim dodges the discussion by claiming that he has another appointment and must leave immediately.
- In the shop, Shula tells Lynda how upset Tony and Pat are but is surprised about Lynda’s unsympathetic reaction. She has never found Rob unreasonable, Lynda answers primly. Eddie arrives and tries to leave right away but Lynda stops him.
- Jim drops by the stables to pick up more books. Shula corners him about Jazzer’s situation. She tells Jim he must make up his mind and let Jazzer know right away. Jim replies that he’d really rather live on his own. He’s become accustomed to not having half-eaten take-aways on the table and dirty overalls in the bath.
- Lynda has complained the shepherd’s hut is leaking, Eddie grumbles to Joe. Why should Eddie go and fix it? Joe agrees that he gave no guarantee but how about offering Lynda a service agreement instead? He’d get a tidy sum every month and there wouldn’t be much to be done. Eddie and Joe meet Lynda at the hut. Joe is talking up Eddie’s skills while Eddie attempts to position the stone with the name on it. Eddie talks about the extended warranty plan but Lynda is outraged and asks them both to leave.
- Shula insists that Jim meet Jazzer in The Bull. Once they see Jazzer, Shula leaves an uncomfortable Jim alone to tell Jazzer the bad news. Jazzer amuses Jim with his stories. Then, Jazzer declares he misses Jim; Jazzer is a changed man now. He promises to keep the place clean and tidy; he’ll be a real asset. Jim is touched and reluctantly agrees. Jazzer can move in at the weekend.
