  • A disgruntled Brian is left on his own at Home Farm with only a slice of cold quiche for company. As she leaves, Jenny comments on how quiet the house is now that Debbie has gone home; it as so lovely having her there. Brian seems less enchanted. He feels that Debbie’s input into recent discussions was less than beneficial. Jenny tells him firmly to let it go and to shut up about the future of the farm, to which Brian retorts that he is thinking of a different type of business arrangement, and intends seeking advice.
  • Jolene and Kenton discuss plans for the refurbishment of The Bull. While a more modern dining room is needed, Jolene is anxious not to change things in the bar for the locals. Maybe a customer questionnaire is needed. At that moment a customer comes in: Eddie. His only comment is that he would like cheaper beer. Brian follows. He has been to The Wheatsheaf on the recommendation of Alice and Chris. The food was fantastic. What The Bull needs is a first class chef.
  • David asks Adam when he will be able to combine at Brookfield. If all goes well at Home Farm, he could bring the combine over on Monday to start harvesting on Tuesday. Could Brian act as wing man? Grumpy Brian is non-committal. What’s happened between you two, asks David? When Adam tells him, David has to laugh at the idea of Brian retiring.
  • After a long day on the combine, Adam meets Jenny. She tells him Kate is working on a revised business plan, thanks to Debbie. Adam tells her he has had an email from Debbie which really lifted his spirits. If Brian won’t play ball, he will go and work for her in Hungary. Jenny is appalled; surely not another of her children going so far away? She is sure she detected a definite spark between Debbie and Charlie. Adam simply says she deserves something better than Charlie Thomas. And surely Brain won’t back out now.
