  • 10 weeks! Rob is impressed with Helen’s Borsetshire Blue but is less taken with the idea of waiting that long before it can be shipped to customers. He is also dismissive of Helen’s plan to go shopping with Kirsty.
  • What has Jill planned for this afternoon? Packing. She thinks it’s time to go home. David puts in a quick call to Ruth; they want to put their proposition to her – together.
  • Kirsty’s shopping trip has been successful and Alice has solved the photographer problem.
  • The moment has arrived to talk to Jill. David and Ruth strongly deny that they have ‘put up’ with her; they have been delighted to have her stay and, if anything have worried that they were exploiting her with all the cooking etc. that she has done. They don’t want to imply that she can’t manage at Glebe Cottage but she is welcome to stay at Brookfield permanently. Really? There is nothing she would like more.
  • Returning home, Rob is surprised to find that Helen has a visitor; she is relaxing with Kirsty after their shopping trip. The coolness of his welcome is such that Kirsty beats a hasty retreat. He later explains that, he and Kirsty having got off to a bad start, Helen might have warned him, by text or something.
  • Within two hours of being asked to stay, Jill is organising an Easter Archers family celebration. Organise away, as long as she is doing the cooking. She has concluded that, although she managed at Glebe Cottage after Phil died, she didn’t enjoy it. She is not good at living alone; she needs to be at the heart of a family. That’s just where she will be.
