  • After church Peggy discusses the organ repairs with Alan, and assures him that she will contribute to the fund. Jill then suggests a flower festival. As Peggy hurries off to have coffee with Elona, Jill agrees to talk further over coffee with Alan.
  • Over Elona’s scones, Peggy remarks that she must be very proud of Darrell. This moves Elona to tears, and she tells Peggy that she and Darrell are splitting up. She has given him so many chances already, and can give him no more. Peggy is very sympathetic, and even offers to pay Elona’s rent for a few weeks, but Elona insists that she must leave Ambridge so that she can find more work. Elona apologises for adding to Peggy’s worries, especially as Peggy must be upset to hear that Tony and Pat are selling the farm. A startled Peggy immediately rings Tony saying they need to talk.
  • At Bridge Farm Pat is anxiously looking at the cows and wondering if there will be any reactors. Tony thinks he should go to The Bull to put a stop to all the rumours about their selling up, but Pat thinks he has done enough already. Then Peggy arrives, and her fears are quickly set aside as Pat and Tony explain the situation. Peggy thinks they have made the right decision.
  • Over coffee Jill explains her plans to Alan. She and Clarrie want to organise a festival with saints as its theme, and to involve the whole community. The regular flower arrangers will assist the groups who lack the necessary skills. Alan is delighted with the idea.
