Johnny’s tutor visits Bridge Farm. Maybe all is not well with Peggy’s ankle.
Radio Times: Johnny receives a visitor, and plans are afoot for Peggy’s party.
Characters: Jennifer, Johnny, Keith Carpenter, Pat, Tony- Bridge Farm has a visitor; it’s Keith Carpenter, Johnny’s tutor at college who has come to inspect his student’s working environment. Johnny is about to take him off round the farm when Jennifer arrives bearing dishes and glasses for Peggy’s party. On the subject of which Jennifer is missing a photo of Johnny for the album, so seizes the opportunity to take one. She had just called to see her mum who seems to have suffered no after-effects from her stumble.
- Keith pricks up his ears when he hears that Johnny has been on the quad bike, even though it has so far been just round the yard. He recommends a proper training course, only a day, before Johnny embarks on more extensive use of the quad bike.
- Pat describes for Jennifer the elaborate cake that Fallon has designed with several village features modelled in icing. She assures Jennifer that Tony’s choice of music will reflect his mum’s taste rather than his – only one Tommy Croker track is allowed! Pat comments how odd it is to see Brookfield up for sale and Jennifer stays silent on the subject of who might take it on.
- Keith seems content with what he hears about the work Johnny has been doing on the farm. Tony needs no persuasion about the quad bike course.
- Jennifer decides to call on her mum again as she goes home because she has just realised that, when she was there earlier, Peggy didn’t get out of her chair at all.
