Josh offers technical support. Joe declines to offer holly picking support.
Radio Times: David is making plans and Josh tries to pick a winner.
Characters: David, Eddie, Jill, Joe, Josh, Ruth- Christmas is on Eddie’s mind as he asks Jill to display some fliers for his turkeys in the shop. He has spotted some good holly and mistletoe near Grange Farm, and wants Joe to come with him to pick it, but Joe refuses. Maybe Joe could sit in the van and keep a lookout? Joe refuses again.
- There is a difference of opinion at Brookfield over their entry for the Prime Stock show. Josh wants to enter Castor, but David disagrees. He is persuaded to take some photos of the contestants on Josh’s phone (with considerable help from Josh) so they can be sent to Pip for her verdict. Meanwhile Josh is off to give Jill a hand.
- At last the cheque from the solicitor has arrived for Joe, who is very pleased. Eddie is less pleased when he sees that they have taken £600 off the total in fees, but that does not diminish Joe’s delight. He intends to put the money in his Post Office account for a special, but secret, purpose. Meanwhile he enjoys exercising his fingers as the physio instructed – by taking the cheque repeatedly out of the envelope and counting the noughts.
- Josh enjoys Jill’s cake and the fruits of Jim’s labours in putting old videos on to a DVD. He is puzzled when Jill comments that one shot, taken in summer, is very dark. Josh can see sunshine and blue sky. Could there possibly be something wrong with Jill’s sight?
- When Josh returns, he claims to have been changing light bulbs for Jill. Pip texts to agree with Josh’s choice for the show, so David gives in gracefully. With Ruth out of the room, David asks to borrow Josh’s laptop. He wants to book a very special weekend break for their Silver Wedding. Knowing David’s lack of technical expertise (and inability to delete an audit trail), Josh offers to help. It will be quicker that way.
