Justin decides he needs to punish Matt for his meddling in his affairs.

Radio Times: Fallon grasps the nettle, while Lynda and Lilian are forced together

Characters: Fallon, Harrison, Lilian, Lynda, Matt

• Fallon is fussing that Lynda hasn’t asked Alan about dunk the vicar whereas Harrison is whinging just as much about Will and his coup. Fallon storms off and says she will confront Lynda and leaves Harrison to think about wallpaper.
• Fallon confronts Lynda and asks her to stand down. Lynda seems thrilled at the prospect. She’s been dreading it. Both of them are very relieved that Fallon will take over. Lilian turns up to join Lynda at Speedwatch. It doesn’t start up as a great event but then Lynda points out she knows it is Lilian’s 70th. And if Lilian equally threatens her with telling Eddie that she knows that Lynda is Harriet Vane. Lilian calls Lynda an internet troll and she starts to storm off but Lilian apologises. It is her 70th and she is dreading it. Lynda says it really isn’t so bad. Lilian then also apologises for the things she said about Leonie and they agree they both won’t tell.
• Fallon gets home and tells Harrison she has got Lynda to stand down. Harrison is only vaguely interested, he’s only focussed on the cricket team. Won’t he ever think about anything else? How are they ever going to buy anything? Are they ever going to get a place of their own? Harrison makes her sit down. He shows her how much he’s saved up over the years and how much money he has. Every bit enough for a deposit. Fallon is thrilled.
• Lilian bumps into Matt in the pub. She lets him buy her a drink and she tells him about James and Leonie. She is pleased to have talked about things with him but then she has to dash off home but seems a bit faint when she stands up. Matt offers to run her home but she says she’ll get a taxi. She says no but as he leaves, Matt gives her another check for £20k. He always pays his debts.
• When Lilian gets home, she tells him she saw Matt. Justin says he found out that Matt was the one who wrecked the Bridge Farm deal. He’ll have to think how to punish Matt. When Lilian leaves the room to try out the new bathroom he asks Anthea to find some names for him.
