Radio Times: Alice helps out. Meanwhile, Jill makes a discovery.
Characters: Alice, Eddie, Helen, Jill, Kirsty, Peggy, Ruth- At Brookfield, Ruth and Eddie discuss the preparations for Clarrie’s party. Jill calls in and invites them to see what she has found in the greenhouse. They troupe off to find a family of baby hedgehogs behind some seed trays. Eddie reckons that they are abandoned. Ruth wonders what’s to be done; Jill says that there can only be one thing in these circumstances.
- Alice helps Kirsty to sort out personal items at the house. It becomes crystal clear that Kirsty will keep nothing. A note from Tom is consigned to the bin bag unread. Later, Alice discovers a letter from Tom in Borth. She pleads with Kirsty to keep it. Kirsty refuses angrily, it goes in the bin… she doesn’t care!
- Helen delivers groceries to Peggy and hears of Kirsty’s reappearance. Helen mentions how she feels about the loss of her best friend. Peggy feels that Tom has left them all high and dry but is just so grateful that Helen has Rob. Helen agrees. Rob is so family-orientated; he even had an argument with his new manager making the point that the needs of the family must always come first -a story wonderfully spun by Rob. Peggy agrees that he is a good man, and good men are hard to come by.
- Kirsty is in the garden burning everything in an old dustbin. She sends up a pall of choking, acrid smoke. Jill calls in to check that all is well. Kirsty tells her not to be sorry for her; she is leaving Ambridge
