David joins them, and Jill makes her feelings about Brian and his expensive culinary tastes very clear. David is unable to understand why Brian didn’t ask him rather than Ruth to represent Ruairidh until he recalls the conversation about old age.
  • Back at Kirsty’s, Lexie tells her that Freddie has told people he is working because his mother struggles to make ends meet. Kirsty soon puts the record straight, Roy then appears, in a foul mood because Phoebe has left her stuff in the hall. Kirsty tries to calm him down by introducing Lexie, but Roy is too upset about Caroline and fed up about a bad day at work, so Lexie takes herself back to the caravan. Kirsty tells Roy what she thinks of his rudeness and his opinion of migrant workers.
  • Jill’s enthusiasm for the pop-up café is undiminished and she is off to pick up food items with Kirsty. David thinks she should not be doing this at her age; Ruth retorts that he is just in a bad mood because Brian thought him too old to represent Ruairidh. Ruth tells him she has not yet made a decision. She will get to Brian with her terms and conditions.
